little living room - Brand identity and publication

The brief: Create a brand identity and print publication that reflects and celebrates the creativity of the community it represents.

The process: Working with the founder of little living room, we discussed the overall identity of little living room and how that could guide branding decisions. I proposed visuals that had the effect of a “blank canvas” upon which community members could project their own creativity. Alongside this aim, elements such as soft paper-like textures, a flowing single-line logo, and a colour palette of calming teal alongside invigorating yellow brought out the mindful, inspiring and homely feel of the social enterprise.

Sadler's Wells - Peacock Theatre Instagram launch

The brief: Craft a distinct sub-brand to capture a new thought leadership arm and function seamlessly across platforms.

The process: This was a project with minimal existing assets, a short deadline and high stakes. This new Instagram account needed to capture the variety of the theatre programme, bring some fun and creativity, and fit with the overall Sadler’s Wells brand. I proposed a combination of venue photography and peacock feather-inspired graphics with photographic elements. I utilised production photography and combined it with the peacock feather graphics to create something quirky and eye-catching.

Sadler's Wells - Digitally optimised performance programme

The brief: Design a programme for a younger, digital-first audience attending a cutting edge contemporary dance performance.

The process: Conversations with stakeholders made it clear that a mobile-optimised approach would be key with the creation of this programme due to the younger audience. Digitally optimising the content of the programme was key.

Dr Aby Watson - Disordering Dance at internationale tanzmesse 2024

The brief: Create a presentation deck and complementary printed cards for a dance presentation at the internationale tanzmesse 2024 with a focus on accessibility.

The process: The work around which the assets were focussed was all about neurodivergence, self-expression and freedom. It was important that accessibility was at the heart of everything I created in this project. Alongside the artist, I chose the Inconstant font – a highly flexible and variable font which was designed to be accessible to neurodiverse and dyslexic users. Colour combinations and contrast were carefully considered to ensure that all attendees could engage with the work. Colour and vibrancy were already a key element of Dr Aby Watson’s work, so they remained central in order to best represent her as an artist.

LGBTQ+ Faces of Bristol - Brand refresh

The brief: Breathe new life into this photography project with a refreshed brand.

The process: This project was a careful balance between embracing all the colour of the LGBTQ+ Pride flag and allowing the photography to take centre stage. I looked at simple yet effective photography motifs which could be introduced on the website and across social media. In addition, I created a slightly muted Pride colour palette which allowed the photography to stand out.

Totally Wild UK - Foraging Mushrooms guide

The brief: Design an accessible field guide for mushroom foraging beginners.

The process: Being handed a 200-page guide and turning it into something both attractive and usable is not small task. A key part of this process was introducing structure to the large volume of information. I created templatised sections into which I could add the content as I progressed through the book – from recipe pages to fact sheets. Attention to detail was essential for correctly labelling imagery and crediting where required. I also took the approach of having a minimal, understated colour palette to balance the quantity of information that was required for the project.
